When you add someone's deviation to your favorites, then they are most likely going to thank you for it. So when you added those pictures to your favorites the person who made it came back and thanked you. It's just a common courtesy on DA.

Some people do go over the top a bit. It maybe that their deviations don't get a lot of attention so when someone comes along and favs their work they get overexcited. That might be it.

Or if you're adding favs like crazy then its not surprising that your going to get bombarded with thank you's. :)
